Beatriz

Beatriz is a passionate water lover with a lifelong connection to the ocean. She is half Portuguese and half Spanish. She grew up in a big family of ten siblings, where being in and around the water was always a big part of life. She has been swimming since she was just six months old, and the water has been part of her world ever since.

She studied Hospitality Management at Les Roches Marbella in Spain before spending two years in Australia, gaining experience across different fields. After returning to Europe, she continued following her passion for the ocean with a season at the Hart Beach surf school in the Netherlands.

Surfing is Beatriz’s greatest passion, and from a young age she has loved teaching children and sharing her enthusiasm for the water. Drawn to this role by her love for swimming and working with kids, she is motivated by helping children feel safe, confident, and happy in the water – while being part of a positive, dynamic team.

Linde

Growing up around the water, Linde swam competitively until she was a teenager. Linde is an avid sailor, as well as sports management professional and master of culture and change with 7 years of experience working for Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institute (KNRM) and is acutely aware of the dangers that water can hold. Linde was trained in the US by and Infant Aquatic Survival Specialist Judy Heumann en Kyla Heumann-Blum, in Longmont Colorado.

Linde is also a Self Rescue instructor trainer.

Otto

As a swimming instructor at Children of the Water, I love to guide children in their development into self-reliant swimmers. As a proud grandfather of three, soon to be four grandchildren, I understand how important it is to teach children this essential skill. Every day I enjoy riding my motorbike to Velserbroek to share my passion for the water and to contribute to the children’s self-reliance.

Susan

Susan is an experienced swimmer and has passionately combined her job as a flight attendant at KLM with teaching at Children of the Water since 2023. Susan lives in Haarlem and has experienced how wonderful and valuable the Self-Rescue course can be for her own child. As the mother of a young explorer, she loves being close to the water and sharing adventures together. When Susan isn’t flying, you can often find her in the water next to Linde!
